Foundational Community Supports (FCS) Coordinator

The primary focus of this position is to oversee and/or provide case management supports specifically related to housing and employment stability for all eligible VOAWW participants. This position will report directly to the Deputy COO and will work closely with each VOAWW department. The position is also intended to engage new community members in an effort to increase the number of program participants.
o Develops a plan for future program growth in collaboration with the DCOO.
o Meets directly with individuals in need of resources and referrals, either by phone or in person. This position assesses the individual’s needs and collaboratively develops a plan to connect the person with needed resources.
Delivers direct core and intensive employment and housing services to assist in job and housing search, placement, and training activities, helping individuals with barriers too employment and/or housing find competitive jobs and affordable/sustainable housing in their local community.
o Provides outreach to and follow-up services for clients in the following programmatic areas: housing, rent payments, tenancy coaching, timeliness, employment, job development, and employment and training counseling or referral.
o Acts as a job coach, helping the client learn to perform job tasks to the employer's specifications and to learn the interpersonal skills necessary to function in the job site.
o Conducts group and individual employment and/or job training counseling, and outlines options with clients.
o Inputs client data and information into Extended Reach database.
o Processes appropriate paperwork when needed for clients receiving assistance.
o Cultivates, develops and retains positive relationships within the community including with employers and landlords.
o Keeps current with best practices as related to trauma-informed care, community support and poverty. Enlists support of community resource center staff to provide high level of client support.
o Contacts employers to solicit jobs, promote agency services, develop specific openings for special client groups.
o Contacts landlords to develop professional relationships and advocate lost cost housing arrangements for clients.
o College degree in social work, human services or a related field strongly preferred. Related experience can be substituted for educational requirements.
o Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
o One to two years of experience working with quality assurance, internal evaluations/audits.
o Prior successful work experience in a social service setting.
o Supervisory experience preferred but not required.
o Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
o General knowledge of billing procedures.
o Must keep information in a confidential and secure manner.
o Experience and ability to work with a diverse population.
o Ability to work independently and in a team. Must be self-motivated who can work in a constantly changing environment.
o Must demonstrate effective attention to detail, and the ability to comply with project and work deadlines.
o **Agency Affiliated Counselor Registration is required within 30 days of employment, or equivalent, and must remain in active status during employment (preferred)
